Sign up for the transformative art of raku firing with our guided kiln sessions. Select your preferred time slot to fire your handcrafted pieces in our raku kiln. This ancient Japanese technique produces stunning, unpredictable glazes and surface effects that cannot be achieved through conventional firing methods. Perfect for potters seeking to explore dynamic color shifts, metallic finishes, and distinctive crackle patterns. Each session includes expert instruction and hands-on guidance through the rapid heating and reduction process. Register now to secure your firing time and witness your work's dramatic transformation.

Included:

  • Up to 7 pieces per time slot - please make sure your pieces are no wider than 6". 2 pieces can be 7"-10" tall, the rest should be under 7" to ensure they fit in the kiln and fire properly in the allotted amount of time.
  • Basic combustibles such as wood shavings and/or sawdust
  • Personal protective equipment (Gloves and glasses)
  • A bucket for your pieces to be placed in when they come out of the kiln.

PLEASE NO SUGAR - we keep bees on the property and sugar in the firing brings bears at night.

Not Included:

  • Combustibles outside of sawdust. Please bring a combustible of your own to share with the group. Horse hair, paper, etc are all good examples.
  • Access to a studio. Bring your pieces ready to be fired. Pieces should be bisqued, glazed, and ready to be fired in the Raku kiln.

Please note: THERE ARE NO BATHROOMS AVAILABLE ON PREMISES.

In cases of extreme weather where firing will not be successful class will be refunded and you can rebook for a future firing.
